This course introduces business analysis and covers the range of concepts, approaches, and techniques applicable to it.
According to the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) business analysis is the practice of enabling change in an organizational context, by defining needs and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
The course is based on the BCS publication Business Analysis, 4th edition, and it is recommended to study this book before the exam.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This three-day BCS Foundation in Business Analysis course is relevant to anyone requiring an understanding of business analysis including Business Analysts, Business Managers, and their staff, Business Change Managers, and Project Managers.
CONTENT OF THE COURSE
What is business analysis
This module explains the origins of business analysis, the scope of business analysis, and the role and responsibilities of a Business Analyst.
The competencies of a Business Analyst
This module explains the three pillars of competencies of a Business Analyst: behavioral, domain knowledge, and techniques.
The strategic context for business analysis
This module discusses what strategy is and how it can be developed. It also discusses the role of the Business Analyst in this process.
The business analysis service framework
This module discusses problem-solving approaches that can be used during a business analysis assignment.
Investigating the business situation
This module discusses investigation techniques with their advantages and disadvantages.
Analyzing and managing stakeholders
This module explains techniques for identifying, analyzing, and managing stakeholders.
Improving services and business processes
This module teaches the principles of business process modeling and approaches to improve them.
Defining the solution
This module focuses on how to perform a gap analysis and how the proposed changes refer to business architecture.
Making the business case
This module teaches how Business Analysts can approach the creation of a business and financial case for a recommended solution.
Establishing the requirements
This module introduces the requirements engineering framework and explains each phase in detail.
Documenting and modeling the requirements
This module focuses on how to document requirements throughout their life cycle. It also discusses basic models that can be used by Business Analysts.
Validating and managing requirements
This module focuses on how to manage requirements throughout their life cycle.
Delivering the requirements
This module explains different life cycles used to deliver a solution.
Delivering the business solution
This module focuses on the Business Analyst’s role in the business change life cycle.
Official EXIN Exam
At the end of the last training day, delegates will take an exam.
FORM OF THE EXAM
It is a one-hour ‘closed book’ exam with 40 multiple-choice questions. Candidates are entitled to an additional 15 minutes if the examination is in a language that is not their native/official language.
The pass mark is 65%: 26 correct answers out of 40.
Positive exam results will award delegates the EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis.
EXAMINATION BODY
TOTAL INVESTMENT
The course costs € 1725,00 (excluding 21% VAT) per person. This includes training materials and exam costs.
EXAM
The exam costs € 250,00 (excluding 21% VAT) and is included in the price.
COURSE MATERIAL
Delegates will receive a binder with slides and additional handouts. Additionally, delegates will receive the book “Business Analysis, 4th edition”.
CATERING
